OpenAI projects $125 billion in revenue by 2029 as it expands beyond ChatGPT

OpenAI believes its revenue will soar to $125 billion in 2029 and $174 billion in 2030, as it continues to launch products beyond the ChatGPT chatbot.

That year, OpenAI expects to generate around $2 billion in cash flow, The Information reports.
OpenAI has just launched its latest AI models, the o3 and o4-mini, which it is calling the smartest yet. The models represent a significant advancement for the capabilities of ChatGPT and pave the way for more autonomous AI systems.
The company’s chief financial officer Sarah Friar said on April 14 that the company is working on an AI agent that can do all software engineering tasks. That’s a clear sign of OpenAI’s intent to become a full stack AI infrastructure provider.
